We are delighted to announce a monumental step forward for healthcare and compassionate patient care in Africa! Last week, Meru University of Science and Technology welcomed two leaders from the Watson Caring Science Institute, USA – Hector Rosso and Prof. Holly Shaw. Their visit marked the beginning of an exciting journey to establish the very first Watson Group in Kenya and Africa, with Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) as the proud host institution!
Together with Dr. Mary Joy Kaimuri, Dean of the School of Nursing, our students had the chance to meet and engage with Hector and Prof. Shaw, deepening their understanding of the globally celebrated Watson Caring Science philosophy. This collaboration is set to foster a new era of holistic, science-based and deeply compassionate nursing practices, not only at MUST but across the continent.
Through this partnership, we aim to empower our students to become leaders in nurturing healing environments and compassionate patient-centered care.
Stay tuned for more updates as we bring caring science to the heart of Africa!
